The Chanel Métiers d’Art collections aren’t your typical fashion week collections. Rather they take place to honor the fine craftsmanship that its artisan partners bring to the house’s collections from lace to gilded buttons and fine embroideries. 

Each Year, Chanel hosts Métiers d’Art collections in different locations around the world outside the usual traditional fashion weeks. Métiers d'Art 2016/17 CHANEL collection took place in Paris in December, 2017 and Tokyo in May, 2017 respectively. It was really gorgeous and playful, different from those typical catwalks.

The backstage beauty was also something beautiful to look at. The makeups reminded me of fresh flowers from the flower shop. So much high gloss and glowing going on this Summer, it feels like we need something matte and velvety, but still dewy. For that, this pretty collection was perfect featuring looks of fresh skin, well defined brows and ice princess white eyeshadows. Pretty lips in colors like peach, raspberries and ballerina pinks. Almost like Spring all over again! And those mulberry nails have a slightly muted look of that iconic Chanel vamp lacquers.

Defined Eye Brows & White Eyeshadows

Use two-toned eyebrow powder duo to achieve neatly defined eyebrows. Define and shape the lines then fill in the brows. You may pluck them before this. For clean and fresh looking eyes, Chanel makeup artists used white eyeshadows. Wet the brush and build the colors on the eyelids by applying it layer by layer until desired color is achieved like the photo. Apply mascara to separate lashes and contrast over the white eyeshadows.

Raspberry & Ballerina Pink Lips:

Apply Hydrating Lip Balm to prepare the moist lips and top with matte liquid lip ink for vivid colors. For a bold look, use Séduisant for a raspberry hue. For a subtle nude look, go with Amoreux in Ballerina Pink.

Mulberry & Ballerina Pink Nails:
